Earth and Environmental Science for Year 9 explores interactions between Earth, water, air and living organisms, and includes the long terms effects of waste management on society.
The lessons align with the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) Syllabus, were loaded with images, facts, games and relevant to teenagersā€™ interests.
We are mindful environmental issues can be confronting for younger generations; as a nature lover and former Zookeeper, Bel does not use imagery of injured wildlife, and the session wrapped up with small actions young people can take to reduce their waste.
Bel has a BSc Biodiversity and Conservation from Macquarie University, and over twenty years' environmental education experience, including teaching teenagers at Taronga Zoo, Auseco, the London School of Economics, Haringey Council - London and Veolia (Waste and Recycling company).
